VISUAL PUBLICATION
Week 7
This week onwards, we were asked start our project 2 which is visual publication. In this project, we need to turn our previous project into an ebook. We will need to show the mood board for Visual Design in next week class. References of layout, typeface, and color theme should be included in the mood board.
Week 8
We were supposed to show our mood board this week but due to the mid-term holiday, there is no class this week. We are going to show our mood board next week. This week I try to get more references, then update my mood board. Below is my mood board:
Week 9
The lecturer went through our Visual Design Moodboard and gave us feedback one by one. For my mood board, Dr. Hayati says that it seems like I haven’t make a decision, and my references are too brief. I need to make the decision by today and show her before the class end. But due to some issues, I was absent after informing the lecturer. After settled down the issues, I updated my mood board according to Dr. Hayati's feedback. Below is my updated mood board:
Week 10
There is no class for this week, and I started my visual design in Adobe Indesign. The last time I use Indesign was almost 1 year ago. I was quite unfamiliar with it, so I took some time to remember how to use it. Other than the references I got for the mood board, I did observe seniors' work and get inspiration for the layout design. After complete the design, I upload the pdf version of my design on Fliphtml5, a website that allows us to make our own ebook. Below is my first version of visual publication design:
Week 11
The lecturer gave me some suggestions for my visual design. Some small detail of the cover was suggested to edit. For example, make a frame for the words “The Preliminary Findings On”. Then, for the content page design, the lecturer was helping me and giving me suggestions during the class. For the appendices, the lecturer actually suggested me to design the form by myself but not just screenshot the form from Google Form. Due to the heavy workload, I decided to just leave it first, if I’m able to finish all the final project on time then I will edit it. Below is my final version of Visual Publication Design:
