INSTRUCTION
DRAFT DISSERTATION
Week 1
For the first class of this module, we were given a brief through the MIB by the lecturers, Dr.Hayati and Dr.JinChi. Then, we were separated into groups just like what we did in Design Research Methodology class. For us (animation and visual effects), we are under Dr.Hayati. Before the class end, we learned about what is literature review and we were told to create a matrix for the literature review.
Week 2
The lecturer said my matrix draft is not complete yet and she asked me to complete it as fast as I could. Also, we should add on keywords and the keywords should be the ones provided by the author but not written by ourselves. It will be better if we add the summary of the introduction and conclusion of each article in the matrix draft as it will help us to remember what we read easier.
Week 3
This week, we were asked to complete the Literature Review Draft by Saturday and start the Draft Methodology. As I have not completed my matrix, I tried my best to finish it in class so that I can follow up on the working progress. Below is my completed matrix of literature review:
Then, the lecturer explained to us how to “theme” the article and make us clear on how to categorize them. I get to know that I can actually add subtopic sections for each theme. The lecturer also told us about the draft methodology. Basically, it is all about what we did for Design Research Implementation.

Week 4
We were asked to complete the draft methodology section and start the findings section for next week’s class. The lecturer corrected my sentence for my research objective as the way I write it made it a statement. The lecturer also explained the two ways of doing draft methodology to me in the class as I saw the seniors doing it in two different ways. The way I was doing is the way she preferred and everyone preferred different ways, there is no right or wrong.
Week 5
We were supposed to show our findings and discussion but I only did it halfway. Because of that, the lecturer went through my literature review and draft methodology again.
For the literature review, there is one subsection is too short, more info should be include. The lecturer also told me that all the topics should come with a description of the content or else it is unnecessary. For my whole draft, I need to make my paragraph connect or relate back to what I have written. I need to make the audience to follow and understand what they are reading. Other than that, I should make a copy of my draft dissertation after week 6 but not overwrite the original one. The lecturer suggests me to move on to the next section first before I start to do the correction.

Week 6
This week we need to complete the whole draft included the conclusion, abstract, appendices, and so on. Dr.Hayiti reminded me to add the cover page into my Draft Dissertation. The cover page is prepared in Microsoft Team. As we are going to finish everything, I decided to just compile all of them into one doc file, and below is my first completed draft dissertation:
Week 9
After viewed our mood board for project 2, Dr.Hayati corrected some of my grammar mistakes and sentences, I edited my doc. Also, she reminded me that I had missed out the Acknowledgement section. Below is my edited version which is also my final submission for Draft Dissertation:
Week 12
I uploaded my final draft dissertation on Turnitin to check plagiarism and it is only 7%, so I did not edit much and submitted my project 1.
