Design Research Methodology Critical Review

LECTURE

Week 4

No lecture for this week but there is a workshop provided for us. The workshop is called as Research 101 workshop, and we were having it on TIMES. From the workshop, we learn how to get resources from Taylor's online library and how to collect data. This is really helpful for our next assignment which is Critical Review. We also learn the proper way to cite the references.

Week 5 

This week we learn to write critical reviews as we need at least 7 of it for our second project. We learn about the structure of a critical review and how to write a good critical review. The lecturer also does show us some examples. The lecturer also reminded us to not take references from Wikipedia or blog as anyone can edit the sources and it will not be reliable. Week 6

This week's lecture, we learn the 2 types of research which are quantitative research and qualitative research. Other than that, we also learn about what is primary research and secondary research. I would say that after today's lecture, I have a better understanding of quantitative research and qualitative research. Below is the lecture note provided by the lecturer.

CRITICAL REVIEW

Week 5

We were asked to show 2 papers to Dr. Hayati so that she can give us some feedback. This is to make sure we are doing it in the right way.

Week 6

We were needed to show at least 2 papers to the lecturer today but unfortunately, I'm only able to show 1 paper due to bad time management. I thought it will be very easy and I can finish it last minute but the result proved to me that I'm wrong. The lecturer didn't give me much feedback and she only asks me to do more. Before the tutorial end, we were asked to finish at least 4 papers by Sunday and this time I did it on time.

Week 7

The submission for this project is on Sunday before 12pm. Somehow few of us still didn't receive any feedback from the lecturer. In the end, we submitted it without any edit or correction since we are not sure where is our mistake. Below is my compilation of all 7 critical reviews.

It was the first time we can all sit in class together after so long since the pandemic. We went through the MIB and we were told that we can conduct the project in 3 ways. Sonic Design Final Project

Yeoh Wen Jun ( 0334234 ) Sonic Design Final Project  INSTRUCTION Week 12 In the final project, it is different from what we did before. Before this, we normally use the free stocks sound effect to conduct our exercises. But this time we will need to record our own sound effects. We were given a variety of videos to choose from. Also, an audio storyboard was prepared by Mr.Razif. The reason to have an audio storyboard is that if we are going to record sound in a studio, we need to save time as it is not cheap. We need to get ready for all the materials and know what sound we need to create. Professional Development Week

Yeoh Wen Jun ( 0334234 ) Professional Development Week Introduction As this is our final semester and we will be graduating very soon, we were asked to learn different knowledge from the people working in the industry and make a report. Hence, we were assigned to take part in the Professional Development Week. Professional Development Week is on week 8 of this semester, and there are many types of workshops provided. In this case, we will need to attend at least 6 workshops which is a total of 6 learning hours. Some workshops were compulsory as it was selected by our Program Director but for the rest, we can choose for ourselves.
