Video and Sound Production Project 2
Week 1
We were asked to watch some Zack King's videos on YouTube and shortlist 3 favorites. Here are my 3 favorites:
In the video below, there are a few parts that inspired me. The first part is at 1:52, Zack King turned money into a burger. The other is he turned an egg and flour to a birthday cake at 7:17.
In the video below, 1:00 part showing Zack King turns a picture of a sandwich on an A4 paper to a real sandwich which is interesting and I found some tutorial of this. I feel like this would not be that hard.
The tutorial video that I found:
Week 3
This week, we will need to write a plot for project 2. I was planning to do on the paper prints to the real stuff trick, but in the end, I could not form a nice story. So I decided to use the making cake trick.
Here is my plot segmentation for project 2:
After we finish the plot segmentation, Mr.Martin gave us some feedback one by one on Zoom. Mr.Martin suggest me to add one more trick as a challenge. He suggests me add a changing clothes scene at the end of the story. (After X's face full of flour) Below is my updated plot segmentation after given feedback by Mr.Martin.
Week 5
After we were given feedback on our plot segmentation, we were asked to create a storyboard. We can choose to sketch or take photo for every scene. Fg.1.0 shows my story plot.

Week 6
I did some careless mistake here and the first mistake is, there are actually only 2 scenes but I separated them into 3 scenes. Scene 3 should change to scene 2. The other mistake is that I drew a wide shot, I named it a medium shot, and I drew a medium shot, I named it close up shot. Fg. 1.1 shows my storyboard after correction.

Week 7 & 8
Week 7, we were asked to start filming for this project and show the mock-up version to the lecturer in week 8. We also needed to buy all the materials that we need for the final project which is the stop motion project. Sadly, I need a birthday cake for project 1, and it is pretty hard to get one as not much bakery is open during this time in my village I stay.
Luckily, during week 8 Thursday, I went to another town to renew my driving license and I saw a bakery is open so I bought a cake. I started to film at 1:00am 5/6/202, which is 7 hours before the class. And I finish filming at 5:00am, it was really hard to control everything by myself while filming. I choose to do the filming at midnight to avoid distractions from my family. Also, there is a factory behind my house, it will be quite noisy and I was worrying that it will affect my video. Midnight will be the best as there will be no one working in the factory and my family is sleeping. Unfortunately, as I said, I finish filming at 5:00am which is 3 hours before the class. I was really tired and I fell asleep. This caused me not able to show the lecturer my mock-up version as I haven't compiled the video clips. Then, I started to edit the videos and compile them after the class. Below is my mock-up version of Project 1:
Week 9
There is a final review of Project 1 in this week's class after the lecture. We were asked to show our work for project 1. Video editing and colour correction should be done this week. Before the class, I was trying to learn how to do masking on Adobe Premiere Pro. I faced a lot of and I was stuck at this moment. Firstly, I realize that my version of Premiere Pro is Cs6 which masking is not available. The reason I'm having an old version of Premiere Pro is that I learned to edit video few years ago, and I downloaded it at that time. (Mr.Martin says that:" compare to cs6, cc version is totally on different levels, like comparing Proton Wira to Proton x70.")
After I downloaded the newest version of Adobe Premiere Pro, another problem came to me. The version of Intel and NVIDIA of my laptop doesn't support the newest version of Adobe Premiere Pro. Luckily I solved this problem after 5 hours and I started to learn masking from YouTube. Below is the tutorial video that helped me the most:
My work for project 1 after adding masking effect:
Mr.Martin told me to check the properties of my video (the kitchen parts) because the quality turned down badly. Mr.Razif says that the sound of the first scene was distorted a bit and I can add some sound effect when the cakes appear. Also, The real sound of cracking egg is more crispy, due to the distance of the DSLR and the egg, the real sound can't be recorded. So he suggested me to mute the whole video and add on the new sound effect. Mr.Razif says that basically, the sound of my whole video is still ok, not a big problem, except the first scene. The sound of the first scene should be edit or change but the rest can base one me (if I got time to do it).
