Week 7

After we got the feedback from the lecturer last week, we started to plan for what we are going to do for the final project. Four of us had a group meeting again to share what idea do we have. For me, I suggested doing a figurine of a guy, built up by a lot of different facial expression masks. This is to show that we all are wearing masks, we put different mask during different situations.

After some discussion, we developed the ideas that we have and we formed up two final ideas.

1. A small sculpture of a tree with different masks (as fruits).
2. A poster of someone changing faces/masks in a different situation (different background)

We showed Mr.Charles our ideas and he said that the concept is good. But under consideration of the time that we have, Mr.Charles don't think that we are able to make a good sculpture in this limited time. He told us to do something more special and save time. Then he suggested us to do a timelapse or stop motion video. Before he leaves the class, he showed us a good example of stop motion. In the end, we decided to do a stop motion by makeup one of our member's faces into a few different "masks/faces".

We booked the photography studio for one day and we can work there from 10am to 6pm.  Before the day we start filming, we went to get the materials that we need for makeup and also the cleaning stuff. We got limited time to work there so we planned out what kind of faces that we going to paint our groupmate 's face. The photos below show the 6 faces that we did.

 Mime is always quite and funny, but they have anger too. They can't show their anger during the performance.

 Sometimes people laugh and they seem like they are happy. But actually, they might be sad in their heart and they don't show it.

 Some of the men are more "female", they like to be female than male but they can't show it because people will laugh at them.

 Robots are made by humans, they are being set to listening to human order. This is to show that sometimes we don't have a choice even we are not willing to do certain things.

 Some times we might feel self-conscious and lost. We are suffering from unwanted attention from others.

We successfully finished the shooting before 6pm and it was quite tired as we were standing for the whole duration. After that, Jojo brought back the SD card that he borrow from me back to compile all the photos into a stop motion video.  Watch our final outcome below:

Sonic Design Final Project

Yeoh Wen Jun ( 0334234 ) Sonic Design Final Project  INSTRUCTION Week 12 In the final project, it is different from what we did before. Before this, we normally use the free stocks sound effect to conduct our exercises. But this time we will need to record our own sound effects. We were given a variety of videos to choose from. Also, an audio storyboard was prepared by Mr.Razif. The reason to have an audio storyboard is that if we are going to record sound in a studio, we need to save time as it is not cheap. We need to get ready for all the materials and know what sound we need to create. Professional Development Week

Yeoh Wen Jun ( 0334234 ) Professional Development Week Introduction As this is our final semester and we will be graduating very soon, we were asked to learn different knowledge from the people working in the industry and make a report. Hence, we were assigned to take part in the Professional Development Week. Professional Development Week is on week 8 of this semester, and there are many types of workshops provided. In this case, we will need to attend at least 6 workshops which is a total of 6 learning hours. Some workshops were compulsory as it was selected by our Program Director but for the rest, we can choose for ourselves. Below are the workshops that I took part in: Tuesday, May 17 For me personally, I enjoyed the “Financial Literacy for Fresh Graduates" workshop by Mr. Fairuz Izman from MAYBANK the most.
