Final Project
Forour final project, we needed to create a piece of work with the title of "Future City" and then, animate it. This project is quite fun and I came out with some weird ideas. Firstly, I sketched all my ideas and write some notes in my notebook.
Fg.1.0 Sketch
From Fg.1.0 that was my first idea and it was very simple. My concept of that sketch is, Earth has been destroyed and humans successfully moved to Mars. The technology has improved a lot and they started to build up a lot of building that taller and bigger than they used to be. As you can see, there is a planet at the top right corner. That is a Moon created by humans. There is mythology saying that actually Moon is built up by humans. There is a total of three-generation and we are the second generation of humans. The Moon that we are having now is built by the first generation of humans. The first generation of humans are smarter and having a higher technology than our technology nowadays. An accident huge crash happens between Earth and an unknown planet bring the first generation humans to the end. After billion years, the elements around the universe combine and form a new Earth and started a new era which is the Dinosaurs era. And this time is our generation, the second generation of humans. Basically, my idea in Fg.1.0 is about we (second generation humans) successfully escape from Earth before the crash and started to develop on Mars. We also successfully built up a new moon.
Fg.1.1 Sketches
In Fg.1.1, there are two ideas with different concepts. The one on the top is kind of boring, it is just half of the piece will show a deserted Earth while another half will show a very high tech city. Basically, the message that I was trying to show is, Earth will be destroyed by us if we keep on develop on the technology but forget about the importance of nature. If we balance both sides, we will have a nice living environment but also with high technology. The bottom sketch in Fg.1.1 is the same concept as Fg.1.0, the "three-generation" concept. The difference between Fg1.1 and Fg1.0 is, Fg.1.0 shows that we successfully moved to Mars and the second generation has not ended yet but in Fg.1.1 is showing the starting of the third generation. As I mentioned just now. After the first generation had ended, the elements around the universe combine and form a new Earth and started a new era. So, in Fg.1.1 the second idea is the new era after our generation ended because we didn't escape from the crash successfully. How I show it is in the future? There will be 2 Moon. The smaller one is the Moon that we are having now which is built by the first generation human. The bigger one is built up by us, the second generation. After the sketches, I show it to Mr.Martin in the class. We showed him the work in a group so that we can get feedback from our classmates too. I told them my concept is a bit weird before I start to explain my sketches, but Mr.Martin said that it is ok to be weird as a designer. After getting the feedback from Mr.Martin and my classmates, I decided to mix up all the ideas together. I will use the first idea (Fg.1.0) as the main design and take the two moon concept from Fg.1.1 second idea and add it to my new design. Also, I decided to add some flying cars and satellites. After all the planning, I went to search for the photo that I need and started to do it on Photoshop.

When I finished everything, I went to get some feedback from Mr.Jeffrey. I told Mr.Jeffrey that I know there is something that needs to be correct, but I'm not sure what to do. So, Mr.Jeffrey asked me to think by myself, what causes it to look fake. I answered him that I feel like the light is fake but he says the light looks ok and my surrounding look very clear which make sense because its on the space. Basically, he said that I got nothing much to change and I can't do anything else. Hence, he asked me what am I going to animate and I told him everything. After I got the approval, I started to animate it in After Effects.

After animated my still photo, we need to export it into MP4 and upload it into YouTube. Hence, submit the link in Google Classroom and I'm done with this project.
Yeoh Wen Jun ( 0334234 ) Major Project INSTRUCTION Week 1 For the first class of Major Project, we were given a short brief by Mr. Asrizal in the class. It was the first time we can all sit in class together after so long since the pandemic. We went through the MIB and we were told that we can conduct the project in 3 ways. The first is to continue with our dissertation topic, the second is to get a client and the last is to make something with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. After the instruction, Mr.Asrizal showed us some seniors' work to give us some ideas. Someone designed a font for Pasar Raya, someone illustrated her own Tarot card, and someone designed a series of collateral. We will need to propose our ideas to Mr. Asrizal in the next class and we started to brainstorm our idea until the class ended. Yeoh Wen Jun ( 0334234 ) Sonic Design Final Project INSTRUCTION Week 12 In the final project, it is different from what we did before. Before this, we normally use the free stocks sound effect to conduct our exercises. But this time we will need to record our own sound effects. We were given a variety of videos to choose from. Also, an audio storyboard was prepared by Mr.Razif. The reason to have an audio storyboard is that if we are going to record sound in a studio, we need to save time as it is not cheap. We need to get ready for all the materials and know what sound we need to create. Yeoh Wen Jun ( 0334234 ) Professional Development Week Introduction As this is our final semester and we will be graduating very soon, we were asked to learn different knowledge from the people working in the industry and make a report. Hence, we were assigned to take part in the Professional Development Week. Professional Development Week is on week 8 of this semester, and there are many types of workshops provided. In this case, we will need to attend at least 6 workshops which is a total of 6 learning hours. Some workshops were compulsory as it was selected by our Program Director but for the rest, we can choose for ourselves.
